no trip

Well since the St Louis area got blasted with rain all week and the rain is forecasted to continue throughout the weekend we stayed home. So this morning I felt like MG rolling down the road at 8 am. It was a really good 50 miles. It took about 10 miles for the legs to warm up today. So I headed into the wind into Alpine then east to Burlington and back with a nice wind. More miles tomorrow.

Man the miles piled up slow today, but hey they where miles. I am just so upset that my friends and family are the reason stamps are going up again. According to the postmaster general it all us flunkies send more email e card evites and mostly we pick up the cell phone and dial long distance for free. I guess we all get tired of a letters taking weeks to get across country and hope it makes it. Did you ever wonder why USPS next day air is not guaranteed for make it next day.

Bout damn time

Well Time Warner finally sent out this very nice women who knew what the hell she was doing today. So it took 4 days to fix our road runner. I really understand things happening in a data loop that are strange and hard to find when split. Except it turned out to be a loose connection in the ped in the yard, So three other techs didn't check the most basic connection. Great.

It was a fun week. let me recap something from Wednesday.

Tosa Cop: Sir, do you know your registration is expired?

Me: Really, I have the emissions slip right here on the seat.

TC: Well Sir, you had until March 31 to get the registration renewed before it expired.

Me: That's good since it March 13,

TC: Oh goodness, sorry I was planning some vacation before I left the station and have April in my mind.

Me: Oh no problem, anything else I really need to get to the dentist.

TC: Have a good day.

Turned out ok

So Sunday turned out to be OK. After rebuilding the rear hub at 6 am too taking home a nice big ol trophy for 2nd place. Not nearly as nice as Nate's but it will do. So after 4 days on the bmx bike the whole body is a little sore. Going for a nice easy road right in 5 minutes.

sunday fun day right

So the racing fun started on friday, I didn't make to the main took a corner tight and washed out. Josh on the other hand had awesome day. He qualified first moto with a 2nd place. Then in the main he was leading when he had a moment, When someone gets to close josh hit the brakes. So josh went from 1 st to last in one corner. Then he past two others to race back to third and take home a trophy. Saturday brought about 100 more riders and the motos got larger. I got shoved into the young gun again. Missed first moto made in the second, In the main I just plain sucked I came into the first corner in the wrong place between Cookie and Tyler. Both notorious shitty corner droppers. They banged bars and bodies and like a tard I put myself between them and I hit the brake and they rode away. Josh had two great motos. He didn't qualify but the riders in 7 novy where a lot faster today. He was not to happy after his 2nd moto. He know he didn't qualify but he said that was the fastest he ever rode around the track. So it a good thing he is starting to get the whole speed thing down. We off to the races again today, It a triple point redline cup qualifier so it going to be packed in the barn today.

Ken: That right josh are you have a party at school.

Josh: Yep, dad who is St Patrick.

Ken: Well he was a boy that was made a slave that ran away to the church and became a priest that is credited for saving the Irish people a long time ago.

Josh: How long ago was a long time ago?

Cole: Duh, your wrong Patrick is a Star and spongebobs friend.

Josh: Dad I think he is right.

All good, and iced

So I skipped practice Thursday and only did about 6 gates in practice to try and save the pain. It didn't work, by race time my elbow was is the pain locker bad. First moto 1 got crappy gate 8 and spun the rear tire on the gate. I raced my way back and was nipping at taking the lead in the last corner and slid the front tire and hit the brakes. It was still a sprint finish and he got me by a foot. Next heat I sat in gate 4 and got a great start and won by a coupe bike length. I had a very scary moment while in the rhythm section my hand came off the grip and I rode the last corner to the finish holding the brake. In the main I had another good start and took the win and the overall. Great racing for me this weekend. Josh had a full rack of 8 in his first heat. In the second corner he got tangled and bounced the helmet off the ground pretty good. After a couple minutes of whimpering he didn't want to race. Minutes later he put his helmet back on and was ready to go. The second heat he just missed qualifying but it was his fastest lap I seen him turn so far. I am not sure how Jay and Nate did but they looked fast all day. Full weekend racing Friday Saturday and Sunday.
