its way over due
So the first race is three week away or so and I have not had the bike outside yet. I did order a new seat and headset finally for the 29er. WTF is all the time on the trainer going to do when they yell go a rockhut. I am just glad I am not the only one stuck in the snow. So either I put on the layers or have a really rough season opener.
Also this lack of sun and warmer temps has my temper snapping way to quick. It may have something to do with the puppy waking me every two hours to go out.

Off - waxed - returned
Well came home today and thought about a ride outside but instead removed the master bath toilet. Then I removed the tooth paste container from said toilet. Opened box containing new wax doughnut, set firmly on toilet, lowered back in place. Hooked up water and flushed all in under 30 minutes.
Another night in the basement with the fan.
Another side note, I was on a job site this morning and there is still 4 to 5 feet of frost in the ground. Maybe kettle will be open by the 4th of July.

Slow weekend
Great use for the crate until the dog gets here next weekend. Just so you know he went in himself and got stuck since the thing was not yet fully assembled
So this is the first coat of yellow on the walls and the gripper primer from last weekend. Its all done now and we spent way to much on curtains and rods. The room looks very nice now. Huge change from whites wall. No more rooms to paint for a while. Painting walls any color or red is crap.
The next couple pics are the kids showing off the new team wear. Including the socks and no the did not mix up the socks.

Almost sounds bad
Did you know in Milwaukee the police will not give you a ride anywhere in the cruiser, well the ride to jail is free. If you would get a flat on your bike and you are walking they will not give you a ride. If your car breaks down, they will not give you a ride. However if you tell them you are homeless and want a ride to a shelter or a residence they by law have to take you there as long as it is in Milwaukee County. Nice that the law abiding citizen gets the "take a walk" and the homeless get front door service.
Also today just in case you don't work in the core of Milwaukee there was a massive drug sweep between I-94 north to State St and from 27th st east to 17th st. It was wicked shit they had drug dogs all over. They had City, County, State and federal officers all over. I was leaving the building and there were at least 10 officers in full riot gear with automatic rifles that had two car loads of guys and gals belly down in the wet parking lot of Wendy's. They also had at least a dozen young men belly down across the street in the parking lot of the old Judy red hots on 27th. As I headed east the had at least 4 houses completely covered along Wells. It would be nice if they did more of these sweeps on a regular basis. Not just because Marquette was all up in arms about the problems around campus.

good weekend at the barn
Well it was two days of bmx racing at the barn. Josh is getting much faster out of the gate on the new bike and brought home trophies both days. I made the main each day and brought home coins and a few bumps and bruises and a crash in practice Saturday. Jay and Nate made it out as well today for some of the last indoor races for the winter. Well the weather man in predicting high 40's later this week. It maybe time to take the bike off the trainer.

dammit dammit dammit
I come home and the mom of the house is gone. So I have the kids to myself this weekend. The first thing I notice is we have boxes and boxes of girl scout cookies. Well that race will be ever harder in 6 weeks.
april 20 will hurt
Well its been another week off the bike again with another cold. I know I am lacking in fitness this spring after yet another set back in health. So when I was looking at emails today and seen the conformation for rock cut race I felt my legs tight up. It 6 weeks away and I am way behind on the base miles. Oh well it sounds like it might get into the 40's all next week.

happy tractor ride
Well Brett pulled the plug and I survived day 2 of the new job. The job is cool. I need to get used to a 8-4 schedule now and that is weird. For the last 6 years I have started at 5am. Now I have to drive with all the dip shits on the freeway during rush hour. I need to find a sticker that says" You cheap bastard buy some sun glasses and drive with two hands." I could not believe how we slowed on the way home on the sunny hill sides.
So I get home and have a good conversation with the kids
Josh: Dad, Brett retired on the news
Me: yes he did
Josh: What does that mean.
Me: He played for a long time and will not play anymore
Cole: The means he is a quitter and Russell will pick on him.
True story.
