cry baby

You know what make more 10 year old girls cry the Randy being half naked.? I found out today it the ending in Charlotte's Web. Just one of those things you need to do as a dad. Take the kids to bad movies.

No racin sunday

Yep we have a party to go to today so no racing , booooooooooo. Well racing Saturday was good to us. Josh and I both got a 3rd in our main. Josh really turned the corner yesterday. He would always get behind someone and stay there after the first corner, Yesterday I told him to just pedal as fast as he could into the first corner and see how that worked. So first time he won his heat and made it to the main. In the main josh did the same thing first corner he was a good bike length in front of the other three. Then he seen the rider on the inside and hit the brakes and they both went by and he ended up third. I again got bumped down in age to 18 -25. It was really nice to get bumped down to that age group to race against 3 real expert riders. I got third then first in the heats and made the main. In the main I knew it would be tough. I did get a third but i was right on their tires so I felt great about it. Well hopefully Jay feels better today and Ron, Nate and the rest of the Alpha wings team take a few wins. Well got to go to the store and get a couple hundred Popsicle sticks to help josh do a project.

joke time

A husband and wife are sitting at the breakfast table watching the news. The weather reporter said expect 6 to 8 inches of snow today make sure you are park on the odd side of the street. The wife tell the husband she will get ready and move the car to the right side of the road.

Now two week later another storm is brewing and the weather man reminds everyone to park on the even side of the streets this time so the plows can keep the streets clean. The wife again said don't worry hunny I will get ready early and move the car.

A week later they wake up to a masses storm they are looking at get 12 - 16 inches. The reporter once again goes to remind everyone to park on the ---------- The power goes out all of the sudden. The wife panics and ask the husband. Do you know what side of the street I should move the car to. The husband replies, I love that your a beautiful blond goddess how about just leaving the car in the garage this storm.

keeps getting harder

Man with every weeks practice it seem that I am getting a little faster but it is getting harder. Maybe the stress of work is knocking me down some. Well I thought I wrecked a brake housing. turns out the v brake rivet pulled out. Man lucky I have a few of those lying around. Russell twisted a BB spindle. Josh had a few really good runs today, he actually looked like he was moving fast around the whole course. I am killing myself mentally with the gate starts. I am over thinking the whole process. The last couple I just jumped at "watch" and things were much better. tonight brought a big MTB crew, Russell Randy Jay Nate VeloDan Ray MG Dan T Fast Guy Joe and others I am sure I missed. We will be racing Saturday not Sunday this weekend. We have some party Sunday so it a bonus to be able to race Saturday.

make it stop

Well three days over already and well over 35 hours so far. But I only have a handful left to do.

Leaving early tomorrow to get Josh to practice at the barn. I will have Cole so maybe no gates for me. Here is a funny one. A guy buys air mattress for buddy to stay on while in town. Has built in pump but is working way to slow. Looks at his shop vac. It has a attachment to fill up mattress. Stickers indicates he needs take off filter to use as pumps. So he removes filter and proceeds with the filling. Turns on vac starts to fill and empties entire 5 gallons on saws dust into mattress. Then tell everyone at work Monday.
So now I am just trying to stick to at least 30 minutes a day on the bike. Now 3 days in a row, it is going to hurt come April. Looking at a 4 day trip the weekend after Easter in NC

Still need refining

Well went to the Barn all by myself today, Josh is still sick. I woke up late after recovering from the Mountain Bike team party/kick off meeting for 2007. Had some great food a good gift exchange and a few drinks from the blender. Those hurt a little this morning. Got to the Barn a little late today but there was a small crowd for sure, only 32 gates. Had a few really good gates so I just hung out until showtime. Ended up talking with Ronsta and Josh and I joined the Alpha wings Team. That was a easy decision with the great team they seem to be. So a won the first heat and watched the 2. Well in the main I spun the tire and had a bad start. Raced back into 2nd and stayed there.

weeks over and 07

Well I worked from home on Wednesday and still managed 44 hours in the office in 4 days. The sickness in the house never ends. Josh came home sick from germ bag central, or as some call it school. Mom took him to the Doc of Friday, strep throat great. We pumped him full of bubble gum flavor antibiotics and he is his old self this morning. He won't be racing sunday but I am going.

Last night I took the bubble wrap of the replacement frame and started to build the fuel back up for the 07 Campaign. Unless I start dropping pounds really fast it will be comp Clyde's for me with a few pounds to spare.

Going to sneak a ride in later on the snowmobile trails today and hot the Barn sunday

workin from home

I am working from home today so I can get some stuff done. After 13 hours in the office yesterday I didn't feel like much was done. On the way home it became apparent many gas stations are making a smack load of money. I am lucky enough to live in the town with 1.98 gas. There are 4 stations in Mukwonago that have gas under 2 bucks. The journal did a piece that Greenwald the big station owner was charging the communist imposed 6% on the price. So all the station that are still charging 2.19 are making a killing. Today it already looks like crude commodities will hit 50 bucks a barrel. A price that hasn't been seen in years. The fun fact is last time crude was 50 bucks a barrel gas at the pump was 1.55. Thank to all the futures and options traders for jacking the price up. That's kinda funny they are titled a "Trader"as a employment status.

thurfriday

So we hit the barn on Thursday and had a blast after missing it for almost a month. It took josh a bunch of gates before he started riding a little faster again. The mtb group was back again plus fast guy Joe. The pros really never loose their form even after years of not riding. Friday at work brought or managers holiday party. We ate at a great place in Milwaukee the food was heavenly but the Miller delivery over priced squad need to go take the miller beer away. I picked up a round 4 bottle of miller products and a diet coke $28, wow. I though prices getting jacked up like that only happened at a strip club. Well skipped the swap today, just going to clean up the house and go on a snowmobile trail ride later.

No thanks Pacific bikes

So I have this 12 years old Mongoose hardtail still laying around the house. Every part has been swapped out except the frame. Well one on the seat collar lugs breaks off and the seat slides down. Big deal it is 12 years old. Well I think back and I remember I had found the sale invoice a couple months ago. So I take the invoice and the serial nuimber to the bike shop. They give mongoose/pacific a call and as long as I have the recepiet they will replace it for a small fee. They will send a fax with the details. Well the shity details are they will sell me a new complete bike at cost. Why the F&^% do I want a complete bike. Well their dumb ass thoery is none of the original parts will swap over. So does anyone think this guy at Pacific has a clue, none of the parts. The truth is only the fork steerer would be different. To get the right fork I would need to buy the complete bike. Then the real kick in the balls was I would have to also shell out for shipping. Neverless jusy offering a frame. SO to close Pacific you can kiss my ass. I will make sure I tell everyone I can about your shitty warranty

Time Warner spending Milwaukee Taxes

Just run out of Milwaukee and stay out. Lets see, the federal government, the Federal Department Of Justice the State of Wisconsin DOJ and 29 other states agree that any Video over Broadband is not cable television. Wait Milwaukee must be right, any video over broadband is cable what a joke. Make sure all you Milwaukee residence send the mayor a .25 cent after every you tube video you watch. Listen listen, here that, its the dumb asses in Milwaukee flushing your money away.

Article from the Jurinal today

As the City of Milwaukee simultaneously sues AT&T and tries to negotiate an agreement with the phone company on its new Internet protocol video service, a Common Council committee today OK'd spending up to $100,000 on an outside law firm to offer assistance.

The city sued AT&T last month, asking a court to declare the company's new 200-plus channel "U-Verse" product a cable system. That would require the company to negotiate a franchise agreement with the city. The city is in talks with AT&T on an interim agreement, which would allow the company to operate the system while the matter is in court. That agreement likely would include a payment from AT&T to the city.A separate file indicates the firm, Miller & Van Eaton, has already billed the city about $33,500. Many such cases have been struck down in other states where AT&T and Verizon are offering the new Internet protocol video service.

Still a monday

Well I dragged myself to work today. I am still waiting for the alien to rip its way out of my stomach. What a weekend. No need for one of those fancy Hollywood colonics. Just get the nice virus making it way around SE Wisconsin. So the weekend was a complete waste and now it will get cold and crappy, oh great. Well, till later.

we got bit

Well three of the four members of the house seem to have found the flu bug. Cole is the only healthy one. I went to wally world at 1:00 am for anti crap yourself meds. So it will be a quiet weekend laying low. At least its not the strain going around the republic of Madison, that strain is causing bloody bowel seepage. Man that would wreck your month.

What a dandy day

Well I had a smiling from ear to ear because I skipped out of work at lunch and came home for a ride. So it was January base miles outside in 50 degree weather in Wisconsin. So I took the mtb bike out and hit some roads some snow less snowmobile trails and the sidewalks. The trails were in great shape for riding, the first snow got the machines out to flatten all the bumps and weeds. I rode about 6 miles off road around the lake pretty much mud free. The creek crossing gave me a wet foot but it was all good. On the way home the fork got a little mushy. It turns out the crush washed busted and the oil was leaking out fast, strange. So 22 miles in January wearing sunglasses and not wearing 3 layers.

Beep Beep - up yer arse

A concession AT&T agreed to with Federal Communications Commission commissioners will make broadband Internet services available throughout all of its residential territories by Dec. 31, 2007. New broadband customers will be able to order high-speed Internet service at a reduced rate of $10 per month.

Another FCC compromise calls for AT&T to expand its U-verse Internet Protocol television service in BellSouth's territory. The company said it already planned to introduce U-verse in 19 million households throughout its residential service territory by 2008. However, AT&T said it now has agreed to offer U-verse in 1.5 million households in BellSouth's territory by the end of 2007.

wrap up

Well the new year is upon us and it is time to get serious about next years race season. I think have done pretty well only gaining 5 pounds since the last race. So no Russell was not talking about me. Not touching the bike since shevagas is true but I am 215 not 240. I think I may throw some trail running into the workout routing along with more cardio and less weights. I know my legs never really get tired even in the longer races like the 40. It is my breathing I really need to work on. The new years party was ok we stayed up drank and ate steak and steak and some more stuff. Man Dick Clark looks more dead than Keith Richards. Well it is 50 degrees out right now, so it either a short ride or cut the grass, yep the shit is really growing. Last time I pay to have the lawn winterized. I think a ride is in order now that I have a bike put back together.
