F*** New Orleans

F*** New Orleans, yes I said it I am so sick of tired of Ray "the mayor" and his f ' ing stupid comments on how everybody forgot about New Orleans. Hey Ray you f'ing genius look around, about 200,000 people left the toilet bowl of America and never came back. They just abandon the shit hole 40 years of Democratic hand outs have created and moved and they left it all for you. Those that left are the working class that took responsibility for their families to find shelter and work elsewhere. Now all you worthless undereducated buddies that stayed to steal the shit that was left are still there killing each other and that it the nations fault for forgetting about New Orleans. I think its time for the Great New Orleans Fire and the Opening a the biggest wetland natural preserve to ever.

make mommy and daddy feel good

So I work off of 26 and Wells in Milwaukee, not the best neighbor hood after dark. We walk to the Marquette campus for lunch a bunch, they have some good places to eat and good scenery. One thing you almost never see are police. Well all this week students are moving back in and mommy and daddy are walking around campus. Well we walked down the last two days and it is near impossible to miss a cop. Yesterday we seen at 6 cops on bikes cops walking and cops in squads driving around. Today we walked to Jimmy Johns same thing. Lots of parents and cops walking riding rolling by everywhere. Today they even had 4 cops on horses walking around. I wonder if the college tells the bill payer the cops will all be gone next week.

this is getting old

It seems every other race is new cables, housing and a chain. Plus a cassette and front and rear pads after this mud fest. I think I may join the ranks of dry weather riders.

let it rain let it rain

Well yet another cluster fudge of a race at nordick mountain. The first lap was rocking until I pinned the front tire between the earth and a log and supermaned right over the bars. Then the second lap the earth had enough and started attacking the bikes and sticking to everything. By the middle of the lap all I could use was the granny or it was chain suck every other pedal stroke. So the last lap it was all granny gear and stopping to clear the mud. Not the best way to save time or your knees. The coarse was good, it was marked for shit riders cheated ans well its over now, now races for me for 3 weeks. Time to hit the road and lose this vacation weight fast.

still behind

Well, thanks to everyone for the kind words about my grandpa. That really took up my weekend. So the good news is trek/fisher has a brand new HI FI 29er frame coming my way. Just waiting on paint. I might really need to wait since trek has all the fox forks with 51mm offsets and they won't part with any them. Then I just bought a xl trek fuel 100 front frame section on ebay for 30 bucks w a damaged rear section. So score for me, i have extra rear section. So I might just take my sweet time putting the 29er together. Sun Ringle has Russell building me some shinnnnny Bubba beater as I am typing and the new Hayes brakes are in the mail. Now I just need to rustle up some X0 shift pods and some X0 derailleurs. Well it looks like it maybe a mud fest again this weekend. The rain and fresh trail will really set up for another 3 hour bike cleaning.

I am a quiter

Yep that is right I quit a race today after 1 mile and hit the deck to many times. The last time I quit a race without a problem was years ago at phillips. On the way home I told myself that would never happen again. Today I got a good start and was sitting in the top ten of our wave. We came over the top of the hill and all hell broke loose with thick mud and we were sliding all over the place I passed a few more riders and was felling really good. My legs felt ready to climb the hills 4 times and my heart rate really never blow up. So we came down the little hill along 76 st to head west and started cutting through and the tire finds a few rocks hiding in a puddle and I go down and slide a ways down the hill. I grab the bike and jump back only losing 3 spots and grab a tire then 300 feet later the rear tire goes out and I laying in the f**cking mud again. Now I am pissed I jump back on and make it through sanford and son and head into the singletrack feeling better. Then what the hell the back tire is sliding and slam, I am on the ground again hard as shit.
That was it my brain said F*&k it. I was sore and beat mentally. I know I had what it took to stay in and fight my way back into it, I just didn't want to do that today at all. I walked off the course with my head hung low. Not a good start to the 2nd half of the season. It was nice to come home and only spend 5 minutes cleaning off the bike. Props to anyone who slugged it out in those course conditions. Props to Greg and crew for taking all the bitching that is going to follow this muddy event. Sorry to the dozen on fold who lost a derailleur and hanger, they were a plenty.

weight till later

Well I just looked a weather underground and found the station at 43 and rawson that got 1.44 inches in 24 hours. That ought to make for a fun race a 76 and rawson today. They did get lucky I just checked the station near or house and we got 2.31 inches. Maybe my lawn will go back to soft brown again.

hope they get it together

I sure hope trek warranty can get something together that won't break every six month soon. This crack is about too the front D clamp. The good news is now that this crack has appeared the noise has stopped. It is amazing that the shit can flex so much that it cracks but still stays glued together enough to ride. It really suck that hard stomps in the big ring throws the chain back to the middle chain ring and back.
